Pick/Ban Guide

How to run a map veto for your competitive match

The Pick/Ban system lets you run a structured map veto between teams. Each team bans maps they don't want to play, then picks maps from what remains. The last map left becomes the decider.

1

Create a Match

Set up teams, map pool, and veto order

Match Title
e.g. Quarter Finals - Team A vs Team B

Team B

Add up to 4 teams

Veto Order
1. Ban Team A
2. Ban Team B
3. Pick Team A
4. Pick Team B

Default: each team bans once, then each team picks once. Drag to reorder or add custom steps.

Toggle variants per map. Select at least as many maps as veto steps.

2

Share Veto Links

Give each team their unique link

Team Links
Team A

Team B
https://oceaniafinalsleague.com/pick-bans/abc123?token=abc... Copy

Each link is unique to a team. Only the team with the correct link can vote as that team.

API Endpoint

Broadcast overlays can consume the veto state via the public API:

3

Ban Phase

Teams eliminate maps they don't want

A
Team A BAN

Then it's Team B's turn to ban.

The dashboard shows whose turn it is and what action they need to take. Banned maps show a red overlay with "BANNED".

  2. Enter team names and select your map pool
  3. Adjust the veto order if needed (or use defaults)
  4. Create the match, then copy each team's unique link
